I spent some time on a chilly Sunday morning taking a few graffiti shots around the Fitzroy area. I came across some older images I had previously taken but the weather and new graffiti reduced the clarity of these pieces. But this adds to the whole cycle as what is old, wears away giving space for new messages to be communicated.

If anyone can suggest other areas to explore, I would be appreciative.

Great news

I have an exhibtion coming up in September as part of Melbourne Fringe. This is the second year in a row I am at the fringe. The new exhibtion, title, A Brief History of Graffiti will be at Bella Union Bar at Trades Hall in Carlton

It will feature some rare graffiti slogans of favourable comments about politcians and the viewer will also be able to contribute to the graffiti image by adding their own comment.

This photograph was taken in an industrial area of Melbourne's west. The bright blue skies, the industrial backdrop and the humour of the graffiti scrawled on the rock makes for a fantastic picture. Perhaps someone amidst the factories and everyday routines wanted to brighten up their day or someone else's with a permanent gesture guaranteed to put a smile on their face.

Welcome to my blog.

I've created this blog to share my interests with others about slogan graffiti. I have been photographing slogan graffiti from around the world for the past five years. I have travelled to Hamburg, Berlin, Barcelona, New York, Beunos Aires, London and Melbourne just to name a few cities that I have photographed.

I will be posting images and discussing these and hope you can also share your images and thoughts about them too.
